Letter of Intent for Employment – Sample Template

Purpose of the Letter:
This letter expresses the intention of the Candidate to accept employment with the Employer under proposed terms, pending the signing of a formal employment agreement.

The Candidate intends to accept the position of Software Engineer, subject to the terms and conditions outlined herein and in the subsequent formal agreement.
Terms of Employment:
The employment shall commence on __________________ and continue until terminated by either party with appropriate notice. The initial salary proposed is $80,000 per annum, payable in accordance with the company’s payroll policies.
Statement of Intent:
Both parties agree to proceed in good faith towards finalizing the employment agreement, which will contain the full terms and conditions of employment.
